When Dirk entrusted us with the redesign of their website, we were already regular readers of “The Weekender”. This a carefully designed magazine with interesting articles about living, travel, food and nature. The old website didn’t correspond to the “look and feel” of the printed issues.
We decided that the redesign should be coherent with the design of the printed magazine without being a copy. We used the same typefaces and some recurrent elements and adopted their respect for the whitespace. We also emulated the magazine’s colored pages by applying a background color to the homepage. This color will be always based on the cover of the current issue. The same thing happens with the background color of the slideshows on the individual issue pages.
We also improved the whole shopping process. We had finally the chance to use Padloper – the eCommerce plugin for ProcessWire for which we designed the logo. A great thing about Padloper is that it allows us to design completely custom forms that conform with the design.
Have a look at the website.
